2012 began with a Forum in Punta del Este

For third consecutive year, CADAL began its activities with a Foro Latinoamericano Punta del Este at hotel boutique AWA. The promotion of the forum in the most important Uruguayan beach was in charge of Marclos Gorlero Producciones, responsible for the communications of hotel AWA, attracting a lot of interest from local and national media. On this regard, Gabriel Salvia, General Director of CADAL, was interviewed from Montevideo by radio Sarandí and El Espectador; and in the local radios Maldonado and FM Gente. Besides, Salvia with Stefania Pesaveto, Executive Assitant of CADAL in Uruguay, took part in the TV shows of Channel 11, Cannel 7 and Punta Cable.

2012 edition of Foro Latinoamericano Punta del Este was dedicated to "The agenda of priorities of Mujica until 2014: public security, competitivity and state reform". The speakers were economist Pablo Montaldo, Penitentiary commisioner at the Parliament Alvaro Garcé and the Ambassador of Switzerland in Uruguay, S.E. Hans-Ruedi Bortis. Foro Latinoamericano Punta del Este was sponsored by the embassy of Switzerland in Urugya and hotel boutique AWA, with the support of El País, Centro de Convenciones La Torre de los Profesionales and Cámara Uruguayo Alemana, Atlas Economic Research Foundation, Estancia turística-bodega Lagunas del Catedral, hotel Europa from Montevideo, bodega San Huberto and Jujuy In Suite Apart Hotel from Rosario.

On one of the issues of the forum, public security, CADAL published in 2008, the book “Reforma al sistema penal y carcelario en Uruguay”, with a prologue by Álvaro Garcé, one of the three speakers.

The book “Reforma al sistema penal y carcelario en Uruguay” was compiled by journalist Raúl Ronzoni and was part of a project supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Uruguay.
