Inscriptions open for 2012 Latin American Program of Academic Extension “José Ignacio García Hamilton”

With a total of 20 classes, the program is intended to students and recent graduates up to 25 years old with the aim of analyzing different aspects of the opening and development of Argentina and Latin America, specially those referred to the quality of democracy, economics and institutions, human rights and economic and sector policies. The program will take place from April 25 till October 3 - with a recess in July - during wednesdays afternoon at CADAL's headquarters, and offers attendants an attractive place for exchange with professors and students from other universities.

The Latin American School of Political and Economic Studies of CADAL announces the opening of the inscriptions for 2012 Latin American Program of Academic Extension "José Ignacio García Hamilton" that will take place from April 25 till October 3 - with a recess in July - during wednesdays afternoon at CADAL's headquarters, and offers attendants an attractive place for exchange with professors and students from other universities.

Among the confirmed professors of the program are: Manuel Mora y Araujo (Universidad Torcuato Di Tella), Bernabé García Hamilton (Universidad de Buenos Aires), Patricio Navia (New York University), Marcos Novaro (Universidad de Buenos Aires), Fernando J. Ruiz (Universidad Austral), Carlos Gervasoni (Universidad Torcuato Di Tella), Jorge Elías (Periodista y Escritor), Gabriel Palumbo (Universidad de Buenos Aires), Horacio Fernández (Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires), Tomás Linn (Universidad de Montevideo, Uruguay) and Sybil Rhodes (Universidad del CEMA).

Besides, those attending to a minimum of 75% of the classes will receive a certificate and will be able to compete for the "José Ignacio García Hamilton" Award through an original text on democracy, economics and/or institutional at a regional, sub-regional or local level. The award consists of a paid internship or part-time research schollarship of $2000 (two thousand Argentine pesos) for two months as research assistant at CADAL.
