The World Uyghur Congress (WUC), in collaboration with the Uyghur Center for Democracy and Human Rights (UZDM), convened the third International Uyghur Forum (IUF), entitled "Ten Years Since the Camps: From Recognition to Accountability – What Comes Next?", held from 11 to 13 June 2026 in Berlin, Germany. This third edition was supported by the German Bundestag's Uyghur Friendship Group.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the mass internment campaign launched between 2016 and 2017. Far from subsiding, the persecution of the Uyghur people has intensified and evolved. The forum was convened as a matter of urgency to assess what has changed, what remains the same, and what measures should be taken next.
The forum addressed the following topics: international responses to the Uyghur genocide; implementation of forced labour standards in global supply chains; transnational repression and protection of the Uyghur diaspora; linguistic and cultural preservation; cross-border family reunification; legal accountability mechanisms; Uyghur refugees and asylum seekers; and multilateral engagement and United Nations mechanisms.
