Professor at the Department of Social, Political and Law Studies (SOJ) and coordinator of the MSc in Human Rights and Peace at the Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara. PhD in Government and MSc in Human Rights Theory and Practice at the University of Essex, England. He is a member of the Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Investigadores del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT). Wrote three books and several articles. Some of his books are Human Rights Crisis in Mexico, co-edited with Barbara Frey (Philadelphia, University of Pennsylvania Press, 2018) and Derechos humanos en y desde las Relaciones Internacionales (Mexico, 2014). His research has been focused lately around human rights and the international human rights regime influence.
