Uruguayan financial system in face of a change in government

Economist Julio de Brun was the guest speaker of this new edition of Foro Latinoamericano Montevideo, organized at Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel. The Executive Director of Asociación de Bancos Privados del Uruguay and former Chairman of the Central Bank, gave a presentation on ''Uruguayan financial system in face of a change in government''.

Economist Julio de Brun was the guest speaker of this new edition of Foro Latinoamericano Montevideo, organized at Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel. The Executive Director of Asociación de Bancos Privados del Uruguay and former Chairman of the Central Bank, gave a presentation on ''Uruguayan financial system in face of a change in government''. El Director Ejecutivo de la Asociación de Bancos Privados del Uruguay y ex Presidente del Banco Central, expuso sobre "El sistema financiero uruguayo ante el cambio de gobierno".

The event began with a presentation by journalist Nelson Fernández, CADAL's officer in Uruguay, on "Elections and plebiscites 2009" two months before presidential and legislative elections.

Then, Julio de Brun, who was also Chairman of Corporación Nacional para el Desarrollo, between 2000 and 2002, and is currently professor at Universidad ORT del Uruguay, gave his presentation.

The audienced was mainly formed by businessmen, foreign diplomats, journalists and analysts.

Álvaro Collazzi, Administrative and Financial Manager of ACODIKE Supergás S.A.; Daniel Varese, Vicepresident of Citibank Uruguay; and Julio de Brun.

Enrique López Castilla (back); Gabriel Salvia, CADAL's Chairman; Alfred Schandlbauer, Counselor of Polticial and Economic Affairs at the US Embassy; Marcelo Paglia, Economist of the US Embassy; and a schollar at the US Embassy.

The participants were received by Lucía Dossetti and, as usual in these meetings, the magazine Perspectiva: Revista Latinoamericana de Política, Economía y Sociedad that CADAL represents in Uruguay, was available.
