Solidarity concert for political prisoners
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Argentina and CADAL organized an event in solidarity with political prisoners around the world, particularly in Cuba, as the date marked the third anniversary of the 11J mass protests that had taken place on the island.
The event opened with the presentation of “Awards for commitment to international democratic solidarity” to Ambassador L'ubomir Hladik and humorist Ariel Tarico, and culminated with a performance by Atemporal Trio of “Canciones Prohibidas” (Forbidden Songs).
The Argentine humorist Ariel Tarico received the “Recognition for artistic commitment to international democratic solidarity” and H.E. L'ubomir Hladik, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Argentina, received the “Recognition for diplomatic commitment to international democratic solidarity”.
The event was brought to a close by the Atemporal trio, consisting of the Cuban musicians Jessica Zequeira, Mario García Piña and Noslen Porrúa, who performed “Canciones prohibidas” (Forbidden Songs).
Among the guests were diplomats, civil servants, cultural and civil society representatives, and members of the Czech community in Argentina.
