Argentine political scenario on an electoral year

With the participation of journalist Fernando Laborda as guest speaker, CADAL organized at its office in Buenos Aires a new meeting of Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires. Among the participants there were diplomatic representatives of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, slovakia, United States of America, France, Mexico, Norway, Poland and Sweden.

Louise Corbin, from Canadian Embassy; Horacio Reyser, Director of CADAL's Business Council; Charlotte Wrangberg, Ambassador of Sweden; and Jacek Bazanski, Ambassador of Poland.

Fernando Laborda has more than 20 years working at La Nación newspaper where he covered different areas of political journalism. Currently, he is Chief of Editorials and political columnist of the newspaper. He holds a BA on Political Science from Universidad del Salvador, besides taking economic seminars at Foundation for Economic Education at Irvington, New York. Previously he studied journalism at Círculo de la Prensa. He has a vas history teaching and researching, now holding the position of Director of Communications Science and Journalism at Universidad de Belgrano and professor in that same university and Universidad Católica Argentina. Among other acknowledgements he received the Rodolfo Rivarola Award from Asociación Argentina de Ciencia Política (1986); a Spacial mention from the award "Coca Cola en las Artes y las Ciencias" (1987) in Journalism and the Award Freedom and Democracy (1991); and a recognition for his contribution to education on behalf of Fundación El Libro (2006). He is co-author of the books "La reforma política argentina" (Editorial Polemos, 2002) and "Reinventar la Argentina" (Sudamericana, 2002).
