The opening of the event in Brussels was in charge of Alf Svensson, member of the European Parliament from Swedish Christian Democratic Party. Then, Gabriel Salvia, General Director of CADAL, presented the English edition of the book co-edited by the organizers of the activity.

The other speakers in Brussels were Ingemar Cederberg, Swedish diplomat and one of the authors of the book, and Frank Priess, Chief of the European Department and International Cooperation from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

The presentation in Berlin had the special participation of Dr. Volker Pellet, one of the three diplomats – with Ingemar Cederberg and the Dutchwoman Caecilia Wijgers – who received CADAL’s award for their humanitarian labor in Cuba between 2009-2010.

Pellet made it clear that it was the first time that he publicly shared his diplomatic experience in the German Embassy in Cuba and supported his presentation with videos and pictures, among them, those of the campaign that the Cuban dictatorship dedicated him over a week for showing his solidarity with the Ladies in White and the opposition.
