Beginning of the seminar ``History of the anti- Semitism´´

The seminar includes 8 open classes, one of which is guided tour through the Holocaust Museum of Buenos Aires. During the classes the participants will further explore the kinds of stereotypes and myths which characterize a particular hatred as anti- Semitism and investigate why these lies still remain despite the efforts to combat them.

On 24 of April in the University of CEMA, the Puente Democrático program of CADAL started the seminar “History of the anti- Semitism” hold by Dr. Ricardo López Göttig.

Before a filled class with more than 50 persons, López Göttig spoke on “The anti-Semitism in the European modernity” to try to shed light on the origins of religious intolerance toward Jews.

Ricardo López Göttig, who holds a PhD in History, Karlova University in Prague. He is professor in the University of Belgrano, Argentina, and the University ORT, Uruguay. He is member of the Academic Council of CADAL and its representative in Uruguay. He participated as a fellow in the International Seminar for Teachers of Yad Vashem (Holocaust – Museum) in Jerusalem, January 2008.
