With motive of the Olimpic Games in Beijing 2008, CADAL launched a campaign "Gold Medal for Human Rights", consistent of an advertisement with an illustration donated by Alfredo Sábat. Moreover, the advertisement has a text reminding the anthem of the Football World Cup 78 in Argentina, organized by the last military dictatorship and it urges the administration of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and the Argentine sportsmen not to be indifferent in front of human rights violations in China. The advertisement was published for free in the last editions of Perfil newspaper.

For Gabriel Salvia, Chairman of CADAL, "Argentina should not take part in this olimpic games, that will take place in a country ruled by a dictatorship, since this kind of regimes always use sports to try to strengthen internally and divert attention from the repression to fundamental liberties". Salvia added that "we must remember the Olimpic Games of Berlin in 1936, in the height of Hitler's National Socialism, and for the argentines the football world cup of 1978". Finally, the head of CADAL stated that "Argentina must have a state policy consistent with the international promotion of human rights, including not to participate in events of this kind organized by countries ruled by dictatorships".

CADAL is dedicated to the promotion in Latin America of the strengthening of democracy, rule of law and public policies favoring economic and institutional progress. The Area of International Promotion of Human Rights gives emphasis in committed diplomacy and international solidarity towards those suffering repressive regimes, taking as a record the support given by governments and public officers of democratic countries reporting human rights violations during Latin American dictatorships.
