The event brought together diplomats, officials, journalists, intellectuals, cultural figures, students and advisors, as well as CADAL’s volunteers, interns and authorities.

The opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Jarmila Povejšilová, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Argentina, and Gabriel C. Salvia, Director General of CADAL.
Following this, Carlos Gervasoni, CADAL’s first president and current academic advisor, presented an award to Filip Kanda, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Argentina, in recognition of his diplomatic commitment to international democratic solidarity.
The event then featured a concert of “Songs Banned” under dictatorships, beginning with Consuelo Pardo, who performed “Zamba para no morir” (Hamlet Lima Quintana), “Te recuerdo Amanda” (Víctor Jara) and “Gracias a la vida” (Violeta Parra).
The concert concluded with the Cuban musicians of “Atemporal Trío”, who performed “Dinosaurios” (Charly García), “Desapariciones” (Rubén Blades), “La cigarra” (María Elena Walsh), “Nuestro día ya viene llegando” (Willy Chirino) and “Humanos” (Pastoral).
