The opening remarks were delivered by Agustín Pesce, the second vice president of the Public Bar Association of the Federal Capital; HE Halvor Saetre, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Argentina; Hernán Vales, Regional Representative for South America at the OHCHR; and Gabriel C. Salvia, Executive Director of CADAL.
The main panel was moderated by Inés Pousadela, vice president at CADAL. The topics addressed included “The Continued Relevance of the International Human Rights Protection System” by Dr. Leonardo Filippini, Director at the Human Rights Centre of the Law faculty of the University of Buenos Aires; “The Constitutionalization of Human Rights treaties in Latin America: Coercion and Resilience by Dr. Alejandro Chehtma, Dean of the Law School at Torcuato Di Tella University, and the Executive Director of the Latin American Society of International Law; and “The Protection of Human Rights through International Criminal Justice”, by Dra. Silvia Fernández de Gurmendi, former President of the International Criminal Court.
