Julio Montero joins CADAL’s Academic Council

Julio Montero, professor and researcher in Political Philosophy and former president of Amnesty International Argentina 2007-2011, joins CADAL’s team as member of the Academic Council. Directed by Sabrina Ajmechet, the body now has 20 members. Montero’s new incorporation is in line with CADAL’s permanent commitment to enrich the public debate on human rights and international solidarity.

CADAL is pleased to announce that Julio Montero, prestigious Argentine philosopher and activist, joins the team as member of the Academic Council of the organization.

Montero holds a PhD in Political Theory from University College London and a PhD in Philosophy from the Universidad Nacional de La Plata.

He is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires and a researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (in Spanish, CONICET). Between 2007 and 2011 he was president of Amnesty International Argentina.

Directed by Sabrina Ajmechet, CADAL's Academic Council now has twenty outstanding members, each one a reference in their field. Its members are: Andrés Cañizález, Liliana De Riz, Sergio Fausto, Matías Franchini, Carlos Gervasoni, Magdalena López, Adrián Lucardi, Jaime Malamud Goti, Julio Montero, Patricio Navia, Cecilia Noce, Marcos Novaro, Romeo Pérez Antón, Fernando J. Ruiz, Bernardo Sorj, Jorge M. Streb, Eduardo Ulibarri, Eduardo Viola and Loris Zanatta.
