Future US-Latin America relations

On Thursday, August 21, 2008, CADAL organized in its office the Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires, with the participatión of the analyst Patricio Navia who referred to ''US-Latin America relations in the next American administration''. The Forum was moderated by journalist Fabián Bosoer, editor of Clarín newspaper.

The Forum was moderated by journalist Fabián Bosoer, editor of Clarín newspaper.

 

Patricio Navia holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (New York University), Master of Arts (University of Chicago) and Bachelor of Arts (with honors,University of Illinois at Chicago). He currently serves as Professor at Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University and for the Instituto de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales at Universidad Diego Portales (Chile). He is columnist of La Tercera newspaper, and for magazine Poder, both from Chile. He is author of several books, the most important of which are: Que gane ‘el más mejor': Merito y Competencia en el Chile de hoy (co-author with Eduardo Engel, 23 weeks in the best-seller list in Chile), and Las grandes alamedas: El Chile post Pinochet (10 weeks in the best-seller list in Chile). He also published papers in many prestigious journals, such as: Americas Quarterly, Latin American Politics and Society, Harvard Review of Latin America, Latin American Research Network, Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Democracy, Foreign Policy, Democratization, Social Science Quarterly, Asian Journal of Latin American Studies.
