The first year and a half of Mujica

With the participation of journalist Tomás Linn and economist Pablo Montaldo, CADAL organized at its office at Catalinas a new meeting of Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires. Officers from the embassies of Austria, Norway, Sweden, Poland and Czech Republic attended to the event that was coordinated by Carlos Mira (Radio El Mundo) and sponsored by Bodegas San Huberto, boutique hotel AWA from Punta del Este and Centro de Convenciones La Torre de los Profesionales de Montevideo.

With the participation of journalist Tomás Linn and economist Pablo Montaldo, CADAL organized at its office at Catalinas a new meeting of Foro Latinoamericano Buenos Aires. On this opportunity, the speakers gave a political and economic analysis on the first year and a half of the government of José “Pepe” Mujica in Uruguay.

Tomás Linn is columnist of weekly "Busqueda" since 1989 and professor of journalism at Universidad de Montevideo. He began his career at El Diario de Montevideo in 1974. He worked in radio, TV and for a brief period at Reuters. He also served at weeklies Opción and Aquí in the 80s. He studied Communications at Universidad Católica de Uruguay and was Humphrey Fellow of Maryland University (College Park) between 1995 and 1996. He wrote five books, the last one of them entitled “Nuestras democracias imperfectas”.

Pablo Montaldo is chairman of the Stock Exchange of Uruguay. He has a Master in Economics and a graduate degree on Advanced Marketing. He is author of the book “El Negocio Bursátil y los Valores de Renta Fija”. He has a huge business activity and works as a consultant in finances and investment projects. He is professor of Economics at Universidad ORT Uruguay and Finance at Universidad de la República. He is member of CADAL's Consultative Council in Uruguay.
