The Situation of the Uruguayan Prison System

With the sponsorship of the Swiss Embassy, CADAL organized at the Center of Conventions ‘La Torre de los Profesionales’ another meeting of Latin American Forum Montevideo. This time it analyzed ''The situation of the Uruguayan prison system and the respect for human rights: Achievements and Challenges'', with the participation as speakers of Juan Miguel Petit, Human Rights Advisor from the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator; Gabriela Fulco, Advisor to the Minister of the Interior in Prison Affairs and Mariana Valdes, UNESCO Chair titular Human Rights at Universidad de la República. The Forum was sponsored by the newspaper El Pais, the consulting group Quatromanos and the support of hotels My Suite, Europe and Mastra craft beer.
