Gabriel C. Salvia
Director General
Activista internacional de derechos humanos. Desde 1992 se desempeña como director en Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil y es miembro fundador de CADAL. Como periodista trabajó en gráfica, radio y TV.
Compiló varios libros, entre ellos "Diplomacia y Derechos Humanos en Cuba" (2011), "Los derechos humanos en las relaciones internacionales y la política exterior" (2021) y "75 años de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos: Miradas desde Cuba" (2023),
y es autor de "Bailando por un espejismo: apuntes sobre política, economía y diplomacia en los gobiernos de Cristina Fernández de Kirchner" (2017). También es autor de varios informes, entre los que se destacan "Las sillas del Consejo: autoritarismos y democracias en la evolución de la integración del órgano de DDHH de la ONU" y "Memoria cerrada: La complicidad de la revolución cubana con la dictadura militar argentina".

Rarely does the foreign policy on human rights of a democratic country reach all dictatorships, since economic interests prevail, i.e. priority is given to exporting products and attracting foreign investment. This is one of the reasons why parliamentary diplomacy is needed. The Parliament is a power independent of the Executive and for this reason its members, elected by popular vote, have the political capacity to carry out activities that governments cannot, especially in developing democracies.
